The New England Patriots made some big moves during the NFL offseason. One of the biggest was the move to sign longtime star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Bringing in a true No. 1 weapon for young franchise quarterback Drake Maye was a huge priority this offseason. Diggs was the answer for the Patriots.
However, since he came onboard, there have been some question marks surrounding Diggs. Most recently, he missed OTA’s and there was a viral video going around of him partying on a boat. That did not seem to make Mike Vrabel happy.
Following the video being revealed, Vrabel spoke out about the situation.

“It’s something that we’re aware of,” he said. “Obviously we want to make great decisions on and off the field.”
Scott Zolak, New England’s color analyst, has now made a major report. He thinks that the Patriots cutting Diggs is “on the table.”
“I came to this show yesterday with the opinion — not opinion, but the knowledge that it is on the table,” Zolak said. “That it is being thought of.”
He continued on, revealing that New England considering cutting Diggs isn’t just because of the boat incident.
“[I]t’s not just the boat,” Zolak said. “It’s not just the boat. There are some other things that I’ve heard that put some things in question. Are you all-in here?”
Despite the possibility of cutting Diggs, Zolak believes the Patriots should keep him in town. He has been impressed with how the veteran wideout has been looking on the field.

“The videos look great of him working out,” Zolak said. “I’ve touted the videos. I know you need diva receivers. I say he shouldn’t be cut, because I think he would help Drake Maye and this offense and Josh McDaniels, because you would have a true viable guy that would set coverage. Right now, you still don’t have a guy who sets coverage.”
Last season, Diggs played in just eight games with the Houston Texans before going down with a torn ACL. He caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns.
Throughout his NFL career, Diggs has been a legitimate No. 1 wideout. If he is retained by New England, he will have a good chance to be the top target that Maye desperately needed during his rookie year.
