American rapper Tobe Nwigwe is moving forward as a brand ambassador for Moncler, launching his first exclusive collaboration on his own Trailgrip Momint silhouette.

The model is a new addition to Moncler’s Trailgrip family, inspired by the color palette in his 2022 album moMINTs. The utilitarian footwear model is birthed from Nwigwe’s fashion vision, featuring a mixture of leather, suede, and nubuck on mint-hued uppers. Tonal “Chukwu” stitching pays tribute to the artist’s name, while GORE-TEX accents, Ortholite insoles, and Vibram Megagrip outsoles protect your kicks during outdoor excursions.

Nwigwe brings his family together for an interactive campaign, presenting his limited-edition collaboration alongside his wife and four children. The family heads to the forest dressed in head-to-toe Moncler, riding inside a vintage Mercedes-Benz in color-coordinating hues.

The Trailgrip Momint designed by Tobe Nwigwe will be released in limited quantities on May 31 via Moncler. We spoke with the artist about his connection with the brand and his new collaboration. Read on to discover the interview.

What is your earliest memory of Moncler?

My earliest memory of Moncler might be in grade school… seeing my uncle in a puffer jacket. I never imagined I would be in a position to collaborate with them.

What made you want to create the Momint Trailgrip with the brand?

Creating the Trailgrip Momint with the brand was honestly a no brainer. Since day one, they have believed in my vision and my family, resulting in a partnership that feels effortless, authentic and purposeful.

What was the core inspiration behind the shoes?

For me, the core inspiration behind the shoes is at the heart of what I do and who I am. It’s all about heritage, the journey, and purpose.

Is there a particular story or message you’re hoping to convey?

The story behind this shoe is that exploration is an essential part of life. We are here to evolve, create, and fulfill our purpose, on and off the trail.

What emotions or moods were you hoping to evoke?

Just purpose.
