EXCLUSIVE: Todd Steinman has taken on Kartoon Channel Worldwide at Kartoon Studios, we’ve learned.

He has been promoted from his U.S.-focused role as President of Toon Media Networks to take on the wider Kartoon Channel business.

The news that comes soon after we revealed Paul Robinson was exiting his post as President of Kartoon Channel Worldwide, overseeing the network’s expansion beyond the States. While it’s not a like-for-like replacement, we understand Steinman will assume Robinson’s duties, while keeping his U.S. role.

Kartoon Studios’ Toon Media Networks division comprises including Kartoon Channel!, Ameba and Frederator Network.

Within that, Kartoon Channel now has distribution in 71 countries, and Steinman’s new role will including him overseeing international operations and the U.S., where Kartoon Studios says the network is a “profitable, high-growth platform.”

The domestic business has reported a 116% increase in earnings year-over-year for January and February 2025, the New York-listed company said without breaking out numbers.

“This next chapter is about building on our momentum in international markets,” said Steinman. “We’re focused on profitability, brand impact, and delivering content that connects with families everywhere.”

“Todd Steinman is an extraordinary executive who has not only delivered profitability and growth in the U.S. at a record pace but also defined a successful, scalable streaming model we can now extend worldwide across Ad-supported Video on Demand, Subscription Video on Demand and FAST channels,” said Andy Heyward, CEO and Chairman of Kartoon Studios.

“Steinman’s extraordinary performance guiding Kartoon Channel!, Ameba, and Frederator Networks into profitable streaming powerhouses for children and young adults has fueled an important and growing profit center for Kartoon Networks, with triple-digit growth year over year. The combination of SVOD, AVOD, and FAST has created a diversified and fast-growing children’s service. Steinman will now assume oversight of the global expansion of Toon Media Networks and Kartoon Channel! Worldwide.”

Earlier this month, we revealed former KidsCo and Disney exec Robinson was leaving his role after three years, having held the jobs alongside roles at at India’s Tata Elxsi and podcast and radio industry events business Radio Days.

Besides running streaming channels, Kartoon Studios’ content slate includes Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Shaq’s Garage, starring Shaquille O’Neal, Rainbow Rangers, and Llama Llama, starring Jennifer Garner. It owns production house Mainframe Studios, which has produced work for the likes of Disney, Netflix, Mattel, and Sony, with current productions such as Barbie, CoComelon and Unicorn Academy.

Kartoon Studios owns the Stan Lee brand and has been developing animated feature films with GFM Films based on the late Marvel guru’s characters. It is also working on a slate of Winnie-the-Pooh series and films that will roll out on Kartoon Channel on Amazon’s Prime Video Channels platform.
