CLEVELAND (WJW) — Summer may be the perfect time to hit the gym, especially if you’re on break from school. A national gym chain is ready to help those on summer break, offering up a free membership — as long as you fit within a certain age range.

Planet Fitness again has free memberships for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19 for the months school is not in session.

The High School Summer Pass allows high school students to use Planet Fitness facilities from June 1 through Aug. 31.

“Many teens continue to be impacted by the long-term mental health impacts from the pandemic, yet studies show that exercise can have a significant, positive impact on teens’ overall wellness,” Craig Benson, Interim CEO at Planet Fitness, said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming High School Summer Pass participants into our clubs to support them in their health and wellness journeys.”

The summer pass includes access to your chosen Planet Fitness facility, along with free fitness class opportunities. Kids under 18 need to register with a parent or guardian.

Teens interested in taking Planet Fitness up on their offer can preregister now by heading to the Planet Fitness website.

The pass is only eligible at the location where they register at, Planet Fitness notes, and can only be found on the gym’s app.
