A suspect was arrested after a man was found stabbed to death in San Bernardino.

On May 19, San Bernardino police responded to a stabbing attack on the 100 block of North F Street shortly before 12:30 a.m.

Arriving officers found a man lying on the street suffering from a stab wound. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The attacker fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators later identified Roddssean McClaren, 37, of San Bernardino, as the primary suspect.

Detectives said McClaren and his girlfriend had fled the city on a Metrolink train headed to Bakersfield. Days later on May 23, police located the suspect in Bakersfield where he was taken into custody.

Details on the case, including a motive, the victim’s identity, or how the victim and suspect were known to each other, were not released.

Detectives are searching for more witnesses who may have been in the area when the stabbing occurred.

Anyone with information is urged to call Detective D. Martinez at 909-384-5619 or email [email protected]. The public can also contact Sergeant E. Campos at 909-384-5613 or email [email protected].
