We’re betting that even Bravo wasn’t looking for this level of drama.
A video emerged on Friday showing the arrest of John Woeltz, the cryptocurrency investor suspected of kidnapping and torturing Italian crypto millionaire Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan with a chainsaw, electric wire and more in a sadistic, weeks-long extortion attempt, according to authorities.
The clip shows a blond man looking concerned as cops cuff Carturan outside a Soho townhouse.
Page Six can reveal that the blond man is Charlie Zakkour, the star of an upcoming Bravo reality show, “Next Gen NYC,” set to premiere June 3.
A source tells us Zakkour would sometimes “crash” at the luxurious Prince Street pad. Authorities suspect Woeltz tortured Teofrasto Carturan in an attempt to get his crypto account passwords, according to a criminal complaint.
According to the show’s site on the Bravo website, “Zakkour is a crypto trader and private investor who’s been ruling NYC’s club scene since he was 14, and he knows everyone (and their secrets).”
The site says: “Charming but blunt, Charlie says exactly what’s on his mind, and sometimes what others wish he wouldn’t. Beneath his tough exterior, he’s fiercely loyal, especially to close confidants like Ava Dash.”
Zakkour has not been arrested or accused of any crimes nor have the other stars of the show.
Page Six has reached out to Bravo, the NYPD and attempted to reach Zakkour.
The show focuses on a group of nepo babies and their pals. It stars Dash, whose parents are mogul Damon Dash and designer Rachel Roy, as well as Ariana Beirmann, the daughter of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Kim Zolciak and Kroy Beirmann.
Brooks Marks, the son of “Real Housewife of Salt Lake City” star Meredith Marks, is also on the show, as well as Riley Burruss, the daughter of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss, and Gia Giudice, the daughter of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” Teresa Giudice.
A source tells us the apartment, which Woeltz was allegedly renting for roughly $30,000- to $40,000-a-month, saw plenty of people coming in and out, including some well known socialites.
“It was a party house,” says a source. “They were spending so much money and partying all the time.”
Another source called it a “frat house for cyrpto bros,” while another tells us plenty of people would crash there.
Over the weekend a bloodied Carturan, 28, broke free of the apartment and ran to a police officer.
When cops entered the home, they discovered multiple Polaroid photos showing the businessman being tied up with electrical wire and tortured, including one of him bound to a chair with a gun pointed at his head, according to police sources.
On Tuesday, William Duplessie, 33, of Miami, Fla., showed up at the 13th Precinct in Manhattan around 7:45 a.m. — and was led out in cuffs several hours later. He has been charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment.
Woeltz’s assistant, Beatrice Folchi, was also arrested but released without charge.
