HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Several events are happening around the Tennessee Valley to honor Memorial Day this year.

MADISON COUNTY
- Memorial Day Ceremony and Laying of Wreath – The annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Laying of Wreath will be held on Monday, May 26, at the Huntsville-Madison County Veterans Memorial Park on Monroe Street. The free outdoor event will begin at 11a.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
- Memorial Day at the Garden – In honor of Memorial Day, Yulista is offering complimentary admission to Huntsville Botanical Garden on Monday, May 26, 2025, for U.S. military service members, veterans, Yulista employees, and their immediate family members. Guests can enjoy the peaceful beauty of the garden from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a valid military or employee ID.
- Jamorial Day Party – Jamorial, a Memorial Day celebration, will take place at The Electric Belle in Huntsville on May 26, featuring live music, hot dogs, face painting, and military artifacts.
MARSHALL COUNTY
- Memorial Day Ceremony -Boaz – On Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at Jimmy Harris VFW Post 6837.
- Memorial Day Service and Groundbreaking -Guntersville – Memorial Day ceremony at 2 p.m. Monday, May 26, at the Guntersville Farmers Market, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
MORGAN COUNTY
- Decatur Morgan County Gold Star Families Memorial Day – Takes place Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at Daikin Amphitheater.
- American Legion Post 15 Memorial Day Ceremony – On May 26 at 10 a.m., the American Legion Post 15 in Decatur will host a service with guest speaker Frank J. Lozano, Major General, U.S. Army PEO Missiles and Space at 2607 Highway 31 South. The service has been moved indoors due to weather.
JACKSON COUNTY
- Memorial Day Weekend at Unclaimed Baggage -Scottsboro – Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro is hosting a Memorial Day Weekend shopping event from May 24-26, offering deals like Fill-A-Jumbo-Bag for $20.25 and shoes for just $5. The weekend will also feature daily activities, including the 60 Second Showdown and a BBQ menu from SoCo BBQ and Sweet Seasons Gourmet Shaved Ice.
- Memorial Day Program -Jackson County – On Monday, May 26, at Veterans Memorial Park in Scottsboro. A wreath-laying ceremony will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the main program at 11 a.m.
LAUDERDALE COUNTY
- Memorial Day Ceremony -Florence-Lauderdale – Takes place Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs.
LIMESTONE COUNTY
- Memorial Day Program -Athens – On Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at 114 W Pryor Street in Athens. t 114 West Pryor Street Athens, Alabama. The Keynote Speaker for the event will be Major General Douglas S. Lowrey, who is a Commanding General with the United States Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
