Brutal video shows the moment two masked thugs pinned an off-duty NYPD cop to the ground at knifepoint in the Bronx — and then savagely stomped on his face.
The shocking caught-on-camera assault unfolded on St. Peter’s Ave. in Westchester Square after the two goons zeroed in on the officer just after 4 a.m. on Saturday, police said.
Surveillance video captured the pair approaching the cop on the sidewalk and immediately throwing him to the ground next to a huge pile of trash.
One of the alleged attackers could then be seen holding a blade to the officer’s neck as the other rifled through the victim’s pockets.
Before fleeing, the suspects pummeled the officer multiple times in the face and booted him in the head.
The alleged crooks made off with the officer’s Glock 19 9mm service weapon and various other belongings, police said.
The injured cop — who hasn’t been identified publicly — suffered a broken cheekbone and fractured eye socket in the attack, sources said.
The sick footage emerged after the NYPD identified 23-year-old Taveon Hargrove as a person of interest in the assault.
“Two individuals viciously attacked an off-duty NYPD officer,” the department said on X on Sunday. “They forced him to the ground, struck him in the face, held a knife to his throat, and stole his belongings, including his firearm.”
Cops have since nabbed Hargrove’s father for allegedly using the cop’s stolen credit card at several Bronx bodegas, law enforcement sources said.
The second goon hasn’t yet been identified and police are still trying to track them down.
