Vogue cover girl Hailey Bieber’s husband Justin Bieber may just be a big “Baby” after all.
And as her career success grows, her relationship is looking even more “Sorry.” In a quite unprecedented peek behind the scenes this week, Justin revealed he once told his wife she “would never be on the cover of Vogue,” in an argument.
He detailed how he had wanted to “get even” during a dispute with the 28-year-old Rhode beauty product founder, who covers the Summer 2025 issue of the glossy, showering in a Prada blue and red pinstripe shirt, skin glistening.
Following months of erratic public behavior from Justin, with Hailey’s brand on the up and up, their roles seem to have reversed.
As Justin reportedly hit financial problems, a source told Page Six/The Post: “Hailey’s 100% the breadwinner now; and watch that company [Rhode] sell for, if not a billion, right under that.”
Despite selling his music catalog in 2022 for $200 million, a new documentary, “TMZ Investigates: What Happened to Justin Bieber?” recently claimed he is “on the verge of financial collapse,” partly due to dropping out of his tour the same year.
Sources close to Justin strongly dispute what they claim are “recent mischaracterizations” of his financial situation.
In Justin’s since-deleted caption under a photo of his wife’s Vogue cover, the 31-year-old popstar also wrote: “Yikes, I know, so mean. For some reason, because I felt so disrespected. I thought I gotta get even.
“I think as we mature, we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even, we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want, which is intimacy and connection.
“So baby, you already know but forgive me for saying you wouldn’t get a Vogue cover, cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken.”
It was an awkward apology, which instantly drew the ire of some fans who called the “Despacito” singer an “unsupportive partner,” prompting him to replace the ramble with emojis, although a sizeable portion of his 294 million followers had already seen the original message
“That’s such a weird post. Just be a supportive husband. How gross is that, to say that to your wife?” One source griped.
However, the odd public display of affection was just lost in translation, a third source once close to the couple said.
“It was his [Bieber’s] way of saying ‘I’m sorry for doubting you, congratulations.’ That’s all it was. [Hailey] knows his personality,’” the source said, also crediting Hailey with helping Justin mature since they got married in September 2018.
“They love each other. She’s been really good for him. He had to grow up. He was a teenager,” they added of the singer, who exploded to worldwide fame in 2010 when he was just 15.
Rumors that the couple’s relationship is in trouble and Justin has gone off the rails have swirled for months in the media.
The model turned beauty mogul and the “Peaches” singer welcomed their first child, Jack Blues, last August, though fatherhood has not seemed to hinder Justin from partying hard. And his odd behavior has sparked concerns over his mental health.
The third source told Page Six that Justin icing out close friends hasn’t helped their situation.
“A lot of people who were close to him are no longer in his circle,” they said. Hailey also told Vogue in her cover story that she has a small friendship circle and seldom leaves the house.
In April, Justin revealed he cut ties with the Drew House fashion brand, telling fans, “don’t waste ur money” sharing an AI animated video of himself entering a house filled with various Drew House items, lighting a match, and exiting the burning building to join Hailey Bieber’s son Jack Blues.
During the second weekend of Coachella in April, Bieber appeared shirtless and seemingly gaunt, smoking marijuana near his 15-year-old brother, Jaxon, in a video posted by a fan. In it, Hailey appears motherly, placing her hands on Jaxon’s back as if steering him away from the drug use.
Bieber continued to raise eyebrows on Thursday, showing support to Chris Brown following the singer’s arrest in London, commenting “welcome home” on a photo the 36-year-old singer posted. The pair collaborated on two songs – “Next to You” in 2011 and “Don’t Check on Me” in 2019.
Brown was arrested on May 15 after being charged with Grievous Bodily Harm in the UK related to an alleged assault at the nightclub TAPE between him and a producer in February 2023.
When Justin abruptly canceled his “Justice” tour following a rare diagnosis of Type 2 Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a facial paralysis disease, he lost out on an estimated $90 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
And insiders said Justin owed more than $20 million to the tour’s promoter, AEG. His manager at the time, Scott “Scooter” Braun, paid what was owed in a loan favorable to Bieber through his company, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But it was revealed he owed Scooter $8 million, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Justin hasn’t released an album since 2021’s “Justice,” though last week it was widely reported he is “very close” to finishing new material.
One source said, despite the rumors, they both remain committed and in it for the long haul.
“Hailey started off as a fan. She had to really prove herself to earn not just his love and the title of his wife, but the mother of his child. She’s really done a lot to make him feel safe … everything just being under a microscope, it’s a lot,” the source who previously worked for the pair told Page Six.
When Vogue asked if she thought the obsession with her marriage to Justin would subside, she told the magazine, grinning: “Well, I thought seven years in it would’ve already, and it hasn’t. You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no.”
“So I guess these bitches are going to be mad.”
And in an attempt to dispel rumors of marital woes, Bieber credited her husband for helping her stay above the fray amid negative attention, saying the advice he’s given her is simply: “You’re not going to win. There is no winning.”
