Summary

  • Kid Cudi testified in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial, detailing a home break-in and car fire
  • Cudi alleged these incidents occurred after Diddy discovered his relationship with Cassie Ventura
  • He also claimed Diddy gave him a “cold stare” when asked about the car, but later apologized “for everything”

Kid Cudi took the stand at Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ federal sex trafficking trial, detailing how the latter allegedly broke into his home and torched his car after uncovering his relationship with Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.

AP reports that in Cudi’s testimony, he stated that he took Cassie to a hotel in West Hollywood to create some distance between her and Diddy. Upon reaching the hotel, he received a call from Diddy’s assistant Capricorn Clark informing him that she, Diddy and another person were at Cudi’s home. She added that she was forced to be with them.

Cudi then called Diddy on his drive home and asked why he was at his house, and Diddy calmly answered that he wanted to talk to him. By the time he got back to his house, however, Diddy was gone. The Christmas presents Cudi bought for his family were opened, and he found his dog locked in a bathroom. “I wanted to confront him. I wanted to fight him,” Cudi said, but decided against it and instead called the police.

Several weeks after the incident, Cudi stated that his Porsche 911 convertible was torched while sitting in his driveway. The artist himself was not home at the time and was over at a friend’s. Instead, he was informed by his dog-sitter who called him to let him know about the fire. Images of the car’s burnt interiors, as well as a hole that was supposedly cut in the roof, were shown to the jury. Cudi added that there was a Molotov cocktail on the passenger seat.

The next day, Cudi met with Diddy at a Los Angeles hotel. “After the fire, I said this is getting out of hand. I need to talk to him,” he said, and they shook hands at the end of their conversation. However, when Cudi asked Diddy about what they can do regarding his Porsche 911, the latter supposedly gave him a “very cold stare” and answered, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Cudi believed “he was lying” but decided to drop the matter, and nothing else happened afterwards. Several years after, Cudi claims Diddy apologized to him “for everything” when they bumped into each other at a hotel.

Cudi testified that he wasn’t having any issues with anyone else but Diddy at the time. Cassie also told the court last week that Diddy threatened to blow up Cudi’s car and hurt him after learning of their relationship.

Diddy is currently facing one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and two of transportation for purposes of prostitution.
