Summary
- Nike is raising prices in the US according to a new report from Complex
- Expect retail prices to increase from $2 USD to $10 USD at the start of June
- Exclusions include Jordan Brand apparel, Kids’ products, budget footwear, and AF1s
The US has been facing a time of uncertainty ever since President Donald Trump imposed new tariffs at the start of February. Trade wars with various nations have escalated and cooled since, resulting in a period of temporary pauses and cuts. Despite this positive turnaround, brands remain on their toes in anticipation of potential price shifts impacting their supply chains, with Nike now set to make a change with its pricing.
According to a new report from Complex, the Swoosh will be raising its retail prices in the US next month, as well as increasing wholesale prices in July. Retailers are said to have been informed about the news this week. The retail price adjustments are noted as ranging from $2 USD to $10 USD, with exclusions in place for “Jordan apparel and accessories, all kids’ footwear and apparel, and all footwear under $100,” and Air Force 1s according to Complex’s report.
Nike’s fiscal year concludes on May 31 and this updated pricing strategy is set to debut with its new fiscal year starting on June 1. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to monitor the impact of tariffs on the footwear industry.
