There’s no Cannes Film Festival 2025 without gowns, tuxedos, jewelry and make-up. Or without meticulous preparation, sometimes lasting several hours, before climbing the steps and walking the world’s most-watched red carpet. But to complete their transformations, stars can’t go just anywhere. Instead, they make themselves in these discreet but often spectacular locations, scattered along the Croisette.
The Chopard Terrace at Martinez
The best view of the Croisette is from the Chopard terrace at Martinez. As an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, the Swiss jeweler makes a point of setting up here every year to showcase its art de vivre (and adorn its actresses) in spectacular fashion. Fresh flowers, buffets, deep armchairs, long terraces floating in the sky: it’s here, a setting accessible by invitation only, where celebrities come to choose their finery before ascending the steps.
Stylists are of course welcome as well, as are a handful of journalists. Chopard’s artistic director Caroline Scheufele is a regular visitor too. She was responsible for the spectacular pieces worn by Juliette Binoche and Bella Hadid at this year’s opening ceremony, as well as those worn by Pom Klementieff and Halle Berry at the premiere of the film Mission Impossible — The Final Reckoning.
The Dior Suite at the Majestic
Another favorite address for the stars of the Croisette: the Hotel Le Majestic, located at the foot of the Palais des Festival, where Dior sets up shop every year to brighten up appearances with colorful powders and blushes. Concealer, blush, lipstick, highlighter—here, each face is placed in the hands of the house’s top makeup artists, with a choice of sea views or the prestigious red carpet.
This season, the suite is decorated with objects from the Dioriviera collection in natural materials such as sisal and rattan, which weave together palm trees, elephants, giraffes, and cacti—ideal ingredients for an exotic journey.
The Chanel Suite at the Majestic
Anamaria Vartolomei, Kristen Stewart, Nana Komatsu, and more all slipped into the Chanel suite before walking the red carpet, in the hands of the house’s top beauty specialists. With iridescent blush, glossy lip gel, luminous eyeshadow, and eyeliner for doe eyes, the label pays particular attention to achieving balanced, contemporary makeup looks.
This beauty treatment takes place in one of the suites of the Le Majestic hotel, in a powdery, intimate setting just a stone’s throw from the Palais des Festivals.
L’Oréal Space at the Martinez
Hairstyling, make-up, manicures: L’Oréal takes care of everything. For 28 years, the group has been at the forefront as the official partner of the Cannes Festival. This year, it celebrates the fifth anniversary of the Lights on Women’s Worth award, chaired this season by Oscar-winning actor Viola Davis. The competition puts a spotlight on women in cinema, and rewards the winner with financial support of 30,000 euros.
But the real star of the space is Eva Longoria, the house’s loyal muse since 2005. The 50-year-old star is celebrating 20 years of collaboration with the French group.
The Orlebar Brown Boutique at the Carlton
Tom Cruise‘s sensational arrival at Cannes, the polo shirt everyone’s talking about, and, by the way, many of the Mission Impossible 8 crew’s looks? They’re all by Orlebar Brown, the superlative men’s beachwear label. In the gardens of the Carlton, in a beautiful white space with a half-Hamptons, half-Santa Monica influence, you’ll find this relaxed wardrobe adored by stars including Jay Z, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Vincent Cassel.
Here you’ll find everything you need to make the coolest appearances on the Croisette: the silk Horton polo shirt (worn by Cruise), but also exceptional floral prints, available in shorts, swimwear, and shirts. Celebrities visiting the Carlton know they’ll find not only something to wear in the pool that’s literally facing the boutique, but also clothing made of linen, gorgeous terrycloth, and seersucker—perfect for a press conference, a cocktail party, a villa party, and, why not, breakfast under the Croisette sun.
Paul Smith Space at the Majestic
The coolest independent British designer is in Cannes for the first time this year, in a suite at the Majestic Hotel. Here, you’ll meet a host of actors, either in person or in the company of their stylists, who have made some of the most charming appearances at this 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
Augustin Dewinter, Edward Norton, Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Laure Calamy, and Harry Melling were just some of those who spent time here, discovering pieces for their festival walk as well as a fine selection of more relaxed looks, perfect for afternoon press conferences or a one-on-one meeting with a producer by the pool.
L’Oasis Spa by Carita at the Martinez
This is one of Julianne Moore‘s favorite spots, where she pampers her skin before hitting the red carpet. A one-hour treatment using Carita’s “Metamorphic” range relieves tension and targets the meridians—the interconnected channels through which the body’s vital energy circulates in traditional Chinese medicine.
