An exhausted kitten managing to fall asleep in his own toy basket has melted hearts online.
The sweet moment was captured by the kitten’s owner and shared on his dedicated TikTok account (@chloe.and.cosmo). The video shows the owner wandering over to the toy bucket, which was filled not only with cat toys, but also a tired-out kitty.
It is a hard life being a kitten, after all.
The owner found him curled up in the basket with his head leaning against the side. It certainly didn’t look like anything would wake the feline up, not even the sound of his owner’s footsteps approaching.
In the days since the adorable video was posted online, it has delighted social media users and gone viral with over 201,200 views and more than 60,400 likes at the time of writing.

It may come as no surprise to see that the kitten “fell asleep in his toy bucket” as they need plenty of rest. Domestic cats tend to require around 12 to 18 hours of sleep a day, with kittens and senior cats needing even more.
The U.K. charity Cats Protection says that a lot of a kitten’s energy is spent on growing, so they need even more sleep than an adult cat to help recharge. And just like humans, senior cats tire out faster and need the extra rest, too.
While they may often fall asleep in unusual places or positions that look very uncomfortable, it is best to leave them to it. They shouldn’t be disturbed while they are sleeping because they need to cram so much in. Cat’s Protection highlights that most cats will be aware of their surroundings, although they can sometimes be disoriented and react defensively.
Cats of any age will usually gravitate toward somewhere that is warm, comfortable, and safe. Whether that’s a bed, a lap, or just a toy bucket, they are sure to find somewhere cozy for a well-earned nap.

Since the video went viral online, internet users can’t cope with the kitten’s adorable antics. This has led to more than 320 comments on the TikTok video so far.
Indeed, plenty of commenters lauded the kitten for living his best life, with many wishing they too could live such a carefree lifestyle.
