The 2025 Sports Emmys recognize excellence in sports television coverage.
Roy Wood Jr. hosted the ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, May 20, at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.
During the award show, sports producer David Hill was honored with the Lifetime Achievement award, which was presented by Fox NFL Sunday hosts Michael Strahan, Terry Bradshaw, Curt Menefee, Jimmy Johnson, Howie Long, and Jay Glazer, and a video from Keith Urban.
Lady Gaga won her first Emmy award in the Music Direction category for “Hold My Hand,” which she performed during the Super Bowl LIX pre-game.
Other notable presenters included Kenan Thompson, Scott Van Pelt (ESPN), Charissa Thompson (Prime Video), Greg Olsen (Fox Sports), Lauren Shehadi (MLB Network), Jamie Erdahl (NFL), Carlota Vizmanos (Telemundo Deportes), Kate Scott (CBS Sports) and Anson Carter (TNT).
NBC/Peacock’s coverage of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad received ten wins, including Outstanding Live Special Championship Event, and two for Steven Spielberg for producing and writing the “Land of Stories” opening.
Some of the on-air personalities who took Sports Emmys included Ernie Johnson, who won in the Outstanding Personality/Studio Host category for his work on TNT and TBS. Charles Barkley took the Outstanding Personality/Studio Analyst award for his coverage on TNT and TBS.
Peyton Manning won in the Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst category for his work on ESPN2, and Tracy Wolfson won in the Outstanding Personality/Sideline Reporter category for her work on CBS and TNT.
Other winners included Nick Saban as an Emerging On-Air Talent at ESPN and Miguel Gurwitz in the On-Air Personality in Spanish category for his work at Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.
