About 25 miles from Long Beach, Snoop Dogg delivered the commencement speech at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business graduation ceremony at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Doggfather dropped some knowledge to the recent graduates on Saturday, who are ready for the next episode of their lives.

“You see the underdog story is the realest story there is, because when you come from nothing, you appreciate everything, you hustle different, you love different, and you leave differently,” the L.A. native told the crowd.

The entertainment icon, entrepreneur, and philanthropist then offered some advice.

“So today, I want you to do three things: stay humble. Never forget where you came from. Stay home, man, keep that fire in your soul and stay true. Always be real with yourself and the world, because the world don’t need no more copies. It need originals. And trust me, ain’t nobody else who can do what you do like you do you,” he continued.

Since bursting onto the scene over three decades ago, Snoop, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., has released 21 studio albums worldwide and received 20 Grammy nominations.

His career doesn’t stop at music. He’s also a known TV personality, especially for his successful collaborations with Martha Stewart. Last year, he took part in NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics in Paris, France. He was also a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.”
