SPOILER ALERT: The following reveals major plot points from the FBI: Most Wanted series finale.
Tonight’s episode of CBS‘ FBI: Most Wanted was an action-packed farewell for the series, wrapping up its six-season run following the show’s shocking cancellation announced in March.
The episode “The Circle Game” opens with Nina Chase (Shantel VanSanten) having a heart-to-heart with her father, with whom she has reunited after sending off her sister to start a new life in Dallas away from her useless husband. Nina is eager to get to the airport, but her father insists on sharing some things he wants to get off his chest.
First, he apologizes for not being such a great father to her, but focuses more on complimenting all the wonderful qualities he sees in her.
“You are an amazing woman,” Nina’s dad said. “You’re a caretaker, so damn resiliant, you do things the way you want to do them and that’s what I really admire. “If you want to raise a family without being married, who am I to judge? You’re a hell of a lot better at it than I ever was, that’s for sure. You know when I’m happiest? When someone asks me what you do, I say, ‘My daughter is an FBI Agent with the Fugitive Task Force in New York City. My heart just swells. Nina, I’m so damn proud of you.”
He follows that up with an apology for never having shared his feelings with her like this before. They embrace and cry before her dad drives her to the airport.
Later, amid this insane shooting, which killed a government worker outside a federal building, the team comes together to help find whoever is behind the chaos. They narrow down suspects and focus on the actual shooter, who they now need to track down and stop before more lives are lost. The culprit is caught, but is shot down and killed by Remy (Dylan McDermott) when the suspect wouldn’t allow himself to be taken peacefully.
Elsewhere, Nina and Ray are on patrol, and they catch up about what’s been going on with her sister. Ray offers up some cool news to share, revealing he and his wife Cora are pregnant with their first child, although they do not know the sex of the baby, both Nina and Ray are hoping for a little boy.
Remy discovers the “treasonous scumbag” who is part of the mission yet to be completed. He is taken alive, and everyone can move on to the final beats of the show.
The party moves to Remy and Abby’s (Susan Misner) new restaurant, where a surprise cake is presented and everyone joins in for a rendition of “Happy Birthday” to celebrate Remy’s big day. Seconds later, he shares that he is retiring from the job and plans to spend more time with the love of his life. The final reveal is who will take over Remy’s job as Team Leader, Sheryll Barnes (Roxy Sternberg).
For their final beat of the episode, everyone moves outside to see the grand lighting of the restaurant’s sign, which reads, The Muster.
