Caitlin Clark has changed everything about the WNBA. She has made the Indiana Fever one of the most popular teams in the league and has brought a larger audience for the league than it has ever had.

To start her second WNBA season, Clark put together a triple-double performance against the Chicago Sky and Angel Reese. She also pulled out a win in that game.

In game two of the season against the Atlanta Dream, the Fever came up short by a final score of 91-90. Clark had another big game, but she also passed New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu for a major spot in WNBA history.

As shared by StatMuse on X following the game, Clark passed Ionescu to take over the record for most 25-point and 10-assist games in WNBA history.

Throughout the course of the game, Clark scored 27 points on 9-for-20 shooting, including making five of her 11 three-point attempts. She also dished out 11 assists, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded two steals.

Unfortunately, that performance was not enough. Indiana struggled at the free throw line, making just 16 of its 26 attempts. Natasha Howard had a rough game, missing four free throws in the fourth quarter.

Aliyah Boston, Clark’s star running mate, scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss. Kelsey Mitchell had a strong game as well with 24 points.

Despite the loss, Clark put together an eye-opening performance once again. She is showing the improvement that she worked for throughout the offseason.

What makes the record even more impressive for Clark is that she has already broken it despite only playing 42 career games. To say that she has lived up to the hype that surrounded her coming into the league would be a massive understatement.

Thankfully, the Fever will also be getting some reinforcements in the near future. Sophie Cunningham, the key offseason acquisition for Indiana, will be making her return to the court from an ankle injury in the near future. Getting her back on the court will make the Fever much more dangerous.

Next up for Indiana will be a Thursday night game on the road. They will have a rematch against the Dream and will look to avenge their loss on Tuesday night.
