EXCLUSIVE: Seriencamp is doubling down on co-production and said its line-up will offer a “glimpse into the future of European serial storytelling.”

The drama event, held annually in the German city of Cologne, has published its full program, revealing a sharp focus on European co-production. With U.S. co-pro money and partners harder to come by, Europe’s producers and broadcasters are increasingly looking at opportunities to work together.

The lineup of co-pro projects selected to pitch to producers, distributors and broadcasters at Seriencamp was selected by an international jury of drama execs: Emmanuel Eckert from Mediawan Rights; Maria Cervera from ITVS’ Cattleya Producciones; Pernille Bech Christensen from Denmark’s TV2; and German broadcaster WDR’s Henrike Vieregge. More details below.

Elsewhere, Seriencamp’s ‘Next From’ strand returns. It has broadcasters share details of what they are working on and their programming strategies. The New8 group of European broadcasters will host a session as will the likes of ZDF, RTL+ and Arte.

Gerhard Maier, Artistic Director of the Seriencamp Conference said: “The focus of this year’s program is on practical insights and future-facing strategies to help navigate these changes and find ways to re-think traditional methods and models.”

The event runs June 3 through 5. Its main funders are the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW – and returning main partner ZDF Studios.
