It’s been a year since Pete Davidson told jokes onstage in a comedy club — and it seems he had to get some zingers off his chest.

We’re told the former “Saturday Night Live” castmember showed up to intimate downtown club The Stand last week and performed two short sets.

He appeared on Monday and Wednesday nights and performed for about 15 minutes each night, according to a source.

Davidson’s appearance flew under the radar as Davidson had a no-cell-phone policy for the gigs.

We hear the comedy club preemptively locked away all guests’ phoes and electronics on both nights before in preparation for David’s return to stand-up. “[Guests] didn’t know. Pete did a surprise drop-in,” the source said.

“He opened the set talking about how he hadn’t been on stage until Monday for a year, with his last set being a co-headline show with Dave Chappelle at his Ohio comedy club,” a source told Page Six.

His roots at The Stand date back to before he joined the cast of “SNL.” The club’s co-owner Paul Italia is also one of the co-owners of the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry he purchased with his “SNL” colleague Colin Jost. These days, he’s ignoring the pressures of fame, and falling in love with his model girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt.

Another source told us Davidson hit The Stand as practice for upcoming shows he’ll be doing in June. He’s slated to perform in Dubai for members of the military and he’ll also be doing a show with John Mulaney at PNC on June 27, we’re told.

“It’s been a really good time for him, working on that. It’s his first time going through this being sober,” the source said.

Additionally, working on new material – including cracks about his maternal grandfather, who’s battling some health issues – has been cathartic.

“He’s been using comedy to cope with the grief of his grandfather’s health. They’re very close,” the source said.

A rep for “The King of Staten Island” star did not comment.
