Summary

  • Nissan has refreshed its one-off mid-engined Micra 350SR with updated styling, tech and components to mark its 23rd anniversary — known internally as its “Ni-San” milestone
  • Originally built in 2002 with a 3.5L V6 and 300 hp, the car now features LED lighting, a satin silver livery, Apple CarPlay and new graphics
  • The updated 350SR will debut at the 2025 SMMT Test Day, just ahead of the new MICRA EV launch

To celebrate the 23rd anniversary of one of its most audacious builds, Nissan GB has given the mid-engined Micra 350SR a restomod refresh. Originally created in 2002 using a Micra K12 shell and a 3.5L V6 from the Nissan Murano — complete with 350Z headers and NISMO upgrades — the one-off 350SR now returns with updated looks, tech and components.

Still delivering close to 300 hp and weighing just 1,200 kg, the Micra 350SR was built by the same team behind Nissan’s BTCC success in the 1990s. Over the years, it’s made appearances at events and in the press, but with the upcoming MICRA EV and 2025 marking its “Ni-San” anniversary (a play on the Japanese pronunciation of 2-3), the 350SR has been brought into the modern era.

Nissan Design Europe led the restomod effort, applying a satin liquid silver finish, gloss black accents and new graphics inspired by Nissan’s modern design language. LED lighting and refurbished 18-inch RAYS wheels round out the exterior. Inside, updated racing seats, harnesses and a new 9-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto bring modern usability.

The refreshed Micra 350SR debuts at the 2025 SMMT Test Day at Millbrook — where it first hit the tarmac two decades ago.
