Kelly Clarkson is once again merging her interviewing and musical prowess with new four-episode specials Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson, set to arrive on NBC in the late summer. Featuring conversations with Gloria Estefan, Jonas Brothers, Lizzo and Teddy Swims, the “unique programming event” will include heartfelt conversations and an introspective look at the array of talents.
The hourlong telecasts are set for debut Aug. 19, Aug. 26, Sept. 2 and Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, with next-day streaming on Peacock. Songs & Stories is billed as “a front-row pass for Kelly Clarkson to engage with some of her favorite celebrities and examine both their music and personal lives. The specials are a forum where iconic voices meet heartfelt storytelling through unfiltered conversation and sung in an intimate, unplugged setting.”
The program originated as special episodes for the three-time Grammy winner’s eponymous daytime talk show, which is nationally syndicated across NBC stations. Those episodes included talks and performances with Heart, Garth Brooks, Babyface, Miranda Lambert, Alanis Morissette and P!NK. For example, Lambert and Clarkson surprised audiences with an impromptu show-stopping rendition of Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” that went viral on TikTok, while Morissette joined to confess why she didn’t originally want her hit single “Ironic” on her iconic album Jagged Little Pill, as the pair harmonized an acoustic rendition of the hit 1996 single.
Since its launch in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show has collected 22 Daytime Emmys, including multiple wins for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host. For the 2024-25 season, the talk series averages 1.2 million viewers per day and consistently ranks as one of the top syndicated talk shows.
Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson is produced by Universal Television. Alex Duda, Kareen Gunning and Clarkson are executive producers.
