Austin Butler and Jeremy Allen White are starring opposite of one another in the new A24 crime film, Enemies. Following several rumors in the past months, the casting has officially been confirmed for the Henry Dunham-led film.
The official plot reads, “A relentless detective and an infamous contract killer collide in a deadly game of cat and mouse.” It is uncertain which of the roles the two will play. So far any additional information has been kept under wraps, though production is expected to begin this summer in Chicago. Alongside A24, Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen of Square Peg will be producing with Alejandro De Leon while Josh Bachove is exectuive producing.
Butler is no stranger to working with A24, previously collaborating with Aster on Eddington which is set to premiere at Cannes Film Festival later this week. The film also co-stars Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal and Emma Stone. Allen White gears up for the premiere of the fourth season of FX’s hit The Bear series this summer. He is also the lead role in the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic. As for writer-director Dunham, he previously worked on Bushido and The Standoff at Sparrow Creek.
