London-based design firm Buchanan Studio has unveiled its inaugural collaboration with Swiss furniture manufacturer USM with a nostalgic campaign characterized by the studio’s playful material palette. Contrasting with USM’s modern and functional designs, Buchanan Studio’s 11-piece collection is situated in a country-esque English interior to amplify Angus and Charlotte Buchanan’s sweet design aesthetic.
On the collection, Angus Buchanan said, “We turn to USM time and time again in Buchanan Studio projects.” “Like all great timeless designs, we love how versatile it is in any interior. Using the USM Haller system as a foundation for us to explore Buchanan Studio’s signature motifs, colours, and materials is a defining moment for us,” he continued.
The USM Haller system lays the foundation for the “TESSELLATE” collection, which explores repetition, symmetry, and adaptability through Buchanan’s distinct lens. Core pieces, including The Stool, The Bench, The Coffee Table, The Credenza, and The Bookcase, are cast in 50s-inspired checkerboard patterns in black and white, and BS Pink and white. Upholstered seating, shown in plush fabrics, will also be available in Buchanan Studio’s Teddy, Studio Stripe, and Ticking Rose fabrics.
Elsewhere, USM’s designs are upgraded with luxurious marble tops in The Desk, The Bar Trolley, and The Kiss Side table. Various marble colorways are offered, including ‘Black Horse’, ‘Norwegian Rose’, and ‘Calacatta Viola’. The varied range is topped off with smaller pieces like The Tray, offered in 8 colorways, and The Side Cart with its perforated metal surfaces.
