Get ready for a frosty twist on your favorite toaster pastry. Pop-Tarts is officially chilling out, heading straight to the freezer aisle with a brand-new lineup of ice cream pints and sandwiches. Heading to the freezer aisle, Pop-Tarts takes your taste buds on a nostalgic flavor adventure for the summer.
Combining breakfast and dessert into one, Kellanova, parent company of Pop-Tarts announced earlier last week that its expansion will blend “indulgent ice cream with flavor swirls and pastry-style pieces” for its pints and as “flavor-filled pastry-style ends” for its ice cream sandwiches. The sandwiches will be available in three flavors — Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Frosted Strawberry and Frosted Chocolate Fudge. The pints will be available in Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Frosted Strawberry and Frosted S’mores.
While no specific release date has been revealed Kellanova has stated that roll out will begin this month starting at Walmart. The sandwiches will come first with the ice cream pints following later this summer at select retailers.
