One of Pope Leo XIV’s brothers put up a series of pro-Trump posts online — and shared one that called Rep. Nancy Pelosi a “drunk c—” — before his sibling was elected pontiff, according to a report.
A cache of Facebook posts from Louis Prevost, 73, indicate the pope’s eldest sibling is an ardent MAGA fan who has no love for Democrats, including the former House Speaker, the Daily Beast reported.
In one lewd post, he reportedly shared a video of Pelosi of California speaking in 1996 with the caption, “These f–king liberals crying about tariffs is just unreal.
“Do they not know that there is a thing called video? Just listen to what this drunk c— has to say In the mid 90s long before her husband had grindr dates.”
In other reported social-media screeds, he called for Democrats to be arrested for treason for meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Louis Prevost, a Florida resident, also shared a meme that has a picture of a mental institution with the caption, “Where the woke lived before the ‘70s,” according to the outlet.
He additionally complimented Vice President JD Vance for his debate performance against Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on the campaign trail last summer – which is in contrast to a retweet his brother Leo XIV, formerly known as Robert Francis Prevost, shared this year critical of Vance.
Attempts to reach Prevost were not immediately successful Sunday evening.
He consistently claimed in other posts that the Democratic Party is filled with communists and suggested in one missive that before “lefties took over and ruined our schools,” they would have been “tarred, feathered and rode out of town on a donkey, or worse, shot or strung up for screwing with people’s lives so much.”
The unearthed Facebook posts give further insight into the new pope’s background and his family after he was selected the first American to lead the Catholic Church.
Leo, Louis and their other brother John grew up in the Chicago suburb of Dolton, Ill., with Louis recalling the pope was always seeking peace.
“Jeez, it was like just yesterday, I was throwing him down the stairs,” Louis Prevost told the New York Times. “And now he’s pope!”
He told the newspaper he was a conservative who disagrees with his brother on some topics.
He also gave his thoughts on what type of pope his brother, 69, will be.
“I think he’s going to be similar to [Pope] Francis, but maybe not quite as liberal-minded, you know, flexing the church rules quite so much,” Louis Prevost said. “I think he’d be a little more conservative.”
Leo’s other, John Prevost, made headlines last week for more mundane reasons when he revealed the US-born pontiff is a Chicago White Sox fan instead of a supporter of the crosstown rival Cubs.
Politics aside, Louis Prevost has been beaming since Leo’s ascension to pope.
“And as soon as [a church official] went ‘Ro-,’ my mind blew up, because I knew ‘Ro-‘ was going to turn into Roberto. And sure enough, Roberto Francisco,” he explained to CBS News of the announcement of the new pope.
“And I went nuts. I lost it. Mind blown. My little brother was just made pope. Oh my God. What do I do? How do I act? Do I have to change the way I live? I better behave now.”
