2025 promises to be a particularly busy year Lauren Sánchez. In addition to her marriage to billionaire Jeff Bezos, the 55-year-old former TV host is preparing to make her debut at the Cannes Film Festival, where she will be honored at the Global Gift Foundation annual charity gala presided over by Eva Longoria and Maria Bravo. At the event, held on the Croisette, the bride-to-be will receive the Global Gift Empowerment Award for her commitment to climate justice with the Bezos Earth Fund and social justice with This Is About Humanity, an organization dedicated to reuniting families separated at the U.S.-Mexican border.

The Global Gift Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to “create a positive impact on the lives of children, women and families, who find themselves in a situation of vulnerability and/or at risk of social exclusion,” according to its website. The group was founded by Maria Bravo and Alina Peralta, and Eva Longoria has been the honorary ambassador for the gala and its events around the world for many years. The foundation has honored many celebrities since its creation in 2013, including Victoria and David Beckham, Pamela Anderson, and Mariah Carey. The 12th annual gala, which will also be attended by French soccer player Paul Pogba, will raise funds for an orphanage in Vietnam and Casa Ángeles, a therapy and wellness center for children with special needs in Marbella, Spain.
Last month, Sánchez and five other women—including Katy Perry and Gayle King—took part in a space mission organized by Blue Origin, a company founded by Bezos. The expedition made history as the first female suborbital flight since that of Valentina Terechkova, the first woman in space, in 1963. Bezos and Sánchez are also gearing up for a June wedding that will reportedly count Kim Kardashian, Ivanka Trump, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and Leonardo DiCaprio among its guests. The couple have another Cannes connection: in 2023, they celebrated their engagement in the midst of the fest.
