Meghan Markle has appointed Bill Gates’ former assistant to be her first chief of staff.
The Telegraph newspaper reports that Sarah Fosmo will become Markle’s most senior adviser as the With Love, Meghan presenter embarks on the next chapter of her career.
Projects will include season two of her Netflix cookery show, her commercial enterprise As Ever, and her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
The Telegraph newspaper reports that Fosmo will “oversee this dynamic period of growth.” It writes that Fosmo has previously described herself as “an accomplished professional with an extensive, long-tenured career managing complex, high-stakes operations for ultra-high net worth individuals.”
Previously, she worked for Gates Ventures, Mr Gates’ private office, in executive administration for six years. Before that, she spent seven years working for motivational speaker Tony Robbins as a senior executive assistant.
This news comes on the same day as the King’s niece Zara Tindall has opened up about the struggles experienced by members of the British Royal Family.
The Sun newspaper reports that Zara, the daughter of the king’s sister Princess Anne and a successful three-day eventing horsewoman married to former England rugby player Mike Tindall, said:
“It is very hard to see from the outside but, 100 per cent, it is a family that is still going through the same struggles other people do.
Whether they are relationships, obviously it is very easy to see every day. We’re still very supportive of each other.”
Her words come after a year in which both King Charles and his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton announced that they were undertaking cancer treatment. Last autumn, Kate announced she was cancer-free while King Charles continues to receive regular treatment.
