Summary

  • A unique Gerald Charles Maestro GC39 Remaster will be auctioned through Christie’s on May 12, 2025
  • The watch spotlights an Australian fire opal dial with jumping hours, decorated with Meta-guilloché
  • All proceeds will benefit the Action Innocence foundation

Gerald Charles has announced the philanthropic donation of a unique Maestro GC39 Remaster timepiece to Action Innocence. This foundation dedicates its efforts to safeguarding children, adolescents and individuals with special needs as they navigate the digital world. The timepiece will be auctioned through Christie’s, where all proceeds will be given to Action Innocence.

Encased within a 42mm polished Grade 5 titanium case, the timepiece’s dial is dominated by the captivating Australian fire opal. Blending avant-garde horology with artisanal craftsmanship, this exquisite gem exhibits a vibrant interplay of warm hues including yellow, orange and deep red. To complement this focal element, the dial is decorated with Meta-guilloché — the Maison’s in-house version of the traditional guillochage.

The Maestro GC39 Remaster represents a significant evolution of an original design by Gérald Genta. While the 2005 model featured sliding hours, this remastered edition incorporates a jumping hours complication. Blessed with a 50-hour power reserve, the timepiece is powered by the Maison’s Swiss Manufacture 4.0 Calibre Jumping Hours movement.

“This watch is more than a timepiece, it’s a symbol of hope, legacy and purpose,” said Gerald Charles’ CEO, Federico Ziviani, adding “This cause is particularly important to me, as I was born in the digital era and have witnessed how much the online world has evolved — and intensified. Supporting this initiative is something I feel I’m doing not only for today, but also for the future of my children.”

This unique Gerald Charles Maestro GC39 Remaster wristwatch will be auctioned by Christie’s through both closed envelope and live bidding. The live auction will occur on May 12 as part of Christie’s Rare Watches, Featuring Stories in Time: A Collection of Exceptional Watches sale, with online and phone bidding options available.
