Minnesota won 3-1 on Friday night against San Francisco. Byron Buxton led the bottom of the first with a triple and came home on an RBI single from Trevor Larnach to get the scoring going for the Twins.
Carlos Correa made it 2-0 in the fourth with an RBI single, then Buxton had another big hit in the fifth, driving in the third run of the game on an RBI single.
The Giants managed one run, with Matt Chapman hitting a solo homer off Chris Paddack in the seventh.
On Saturday, the Giants will try to even the series with Logan Webb on the mound, who is 4-2 with a 2.61 ERA, but Twins pitcher Joe Ryan has been strong as well, going 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA.
