A transgender woman has turned to social media to identify a man who slashed her tires at a North Hollywood gas station.
The incident happened last Thursday at the Arco on Cahuenga Boulevard, across the 101 Freeway from Universal Studios. In a video posted to TikTok, Gigi Candy said she turned into the gas station and was waiting for a pump to become available when her attacker drove up behind her.
“He starts blasting his horn, zero patience in the world,” Candy said. She decided to drive to a different gas pump, but the man followed her, she said.
“I’m like, what the [expletive], there are no pumps behind me. He’s just parked behind me. I can see him talking [expletive], flipping me off.”
Candy admits to also raising her middle finger at the man, which, she said, sent him into a “rage.”
The video shows the man stabbing one of her tires several times with a small pocketknife before getting back into his vehicle. A female passenger is also seen inside the car.
It remains unclear if Candy’s gender identity played a role in the attack.
Candy hopes someone on social media can help identify the man and lead to criminal charges.
“Honestly, I’m traumatized and just want this dealt with,” she said.
