In tune with the ever-present retro-trend taking the automotive scene by storm, Toyota is reviving ’80s spirit with a modern twist in the new 2026 Corolla Hatchback FX Edition, a special release inspired by the beloved FX16. Limited to 1,600 units for the U.S., the FX Edition arrives this fall with aggressive styling, sporty upgrades and a nod to Toyota’s performance heritage.
Based on the SE trim, the FX Edition features a black vented sport wing, heritage-style rear badging and 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels that channel retro vibes with modern edge. Under the hood, a 2L four-cylinder engine delivers 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque, paired with a manufacturer-estimated 33 MPG combined rating.
Inside, black Sport Touring seats with suede inserts and orange contrast stitching set the tone. The vibrant accents continue across the door panels, steering wheel and shift boot. A 7-inch digital gauge cluster and wireless charging pad come standard.
Available in Ice Cap, Inferno and Blue Crush Metallic, the FX Edition also features Toyota’s 8-inch Audio Multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and voice-activated commands via “Hey Toyota.” Additional connected services include Wi-Fi Connect, Remote Connect, Safety Connect and Service Connect, with trials included.
Pricing will be announced later this year ahead of the FX Edition’s arrival in dealerships.
