EXCLUSIVE: Range Media Partners is launching new divisions with the hiring of three industry veterans: Jeff Jernigan, Randie Adler and Jeff Speich.
Jernigan will help launch a Composer division within Range Music, which has already been active at the intersection of music & TV through the representation of talent like music supervisor Andrea von Forester (Yellowstone, Landman). Meanwhile, Adler is launching an IP/Media Rights capability within Range’s Film & TV division, with Speich to oversee the launch of Range Literary Publishing, an imprint with Central Recovery Press, which has specialized in the full spectrum of behavioral health topics since 2012.
Range Literary Publishing, in particular, will serve as a boutique, author-forward imprint committed to publishing high-quality works across genres including memoir, fiction, and non-fiction. With a focus on creative freedom and editorial excellence, the imprint aims to support both emerging and established voices while identifying projects with strong potential for adaptation in film and TV.
Representing music for media composers, songwriters, music supervisors, and executive music producers, Jernigan comes to Range after more than nine years at Kraft-Engel Management. He brings with him esteemed clients including Oscar-winning composer Steven Price (Gravity), Emmy-nominated composer and songwriter Tom Howe (Ted Lasso), Raffertie (The Substance), Emmy-nominated music supervisor Amanda Krieg Thomas (Halston), Brandon Roberts (Andor), Joseph Stephens (The Righteous Gemstones), Disasterpeace (It Follows), Tony Award-nominated composer Helen Park (KPOP), and Grammy-winning music supervisor Steven Gizicki (Maestro).
Jernigan already has deep ties with Range, as multiple clients have intersected on recent projects with Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Range’s Co-Presidents of Film & Production. His client Gizicki, served as music supervisor on James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown and Damien Chazelle’s La La Land, both produced by Berger, with his client Price serving as composer on The Wayward/Range film Los Frikis from Range clients Tyler Nilson & Michael Schwartz.
Before joining Range, Adler spent three years in the Media Rights department at ICM before transitioning to CAA following the 2022 acquisition. She began her career in IP representation at The Gotham Group. Adler represents a distinguished roster of authors and journalists, including Dr. Stephanie Green, author of The Heathrow Doctor; Angie Cruz, who was shortlisted for The Women’s Prize and longlisted for the Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction; Kayla Rae Whitaker, whose debut novel was named NPR’s Best Book of the Year; Pat Murphy, winner of the Philip K. Dick Award; Aaron Philip Clark, an International Thriller Writers award nominee; and debut novelists De Elizabeth, Andrew Brininstool and Emet North, among others.
Speich spent over a decade at CAA before launching The Channel Road, the parent company of CRP, where he serves as CEO and publisher. CRP’s catalog includes approximately 200 titles and features standout works such as My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem, a groundbreaking book that reframes racism as a form of trauma carried in the body and passed down through generations, offering a path to healing through body-centered practices. The book spent 29 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and has had a significant cultural impact.
In a joint statement on their new appointments, Range Founding Partners Peter Micelli, Jack Whigham and Matt Graham said, “We founded Range with the intention of building a dynamic full-service ecosystem, one that not only enables our clients to capture more value in everything they do but also adds efficiency to the process. We take great pride in advising our clients on the continued disruption in our industry and helping them advantageously navigate those changes accordingly. By launching these new capabilities in-house with these best-in-class experts, our goal is to strategically support our clients and help expedite the realization of their deepest ambitions.”
Bringing in Meredith Wechter as a managing partner in February, as we told you first, Range Media Partners’ recent signings include actor Josh Duhamel and author James Frey, as well as multi-hyphenate Miranda Bailey and her Cold Iron Pictures, to name just a few.
