Hysterics as Owner Finds Pet on Bed Doing the ‘Most Cat Thing’ Ever

A video of an owner discovering a cat caught in a tangled mess went viral, bringing in over 12.8 million views on TikTok within three days.

Cats often find strings and yarn irresistible, as the movement on the floor can mimic prey in the wild and trigger a feline’s hunting instinct. To them, a ball of yarn means endless fun. It is easy to catch and can be thrown across the floor. Cats love the texture of yarn and string, an article from Catster reported. Plus, it offers mental and physical stimulation.

But string and yarn can become a headache for owners if their cats get their paws on it, which is exactly what happened to TikTok user @healingat40.

In the clip posted on May 5, the owner walked into the bedroom and discovered her cat sprawled on the bed. The cat looked back at the owner with eyes that screamed “help!” as she could not move after managing to entangle herself in a ball of yarn.

The cat didn’t just roll around with the string once or twice. She covered her entire body with the yarn. The only part of her body that could move was her tail, which slightly wagged in anticipation of getting saved by her owner.

Another recent video on her page revealed this wasn’t the last time her cat used a ball of yarn to cause a mess. The owner walked into the living room, after only being gone for two minutes, to discover her cat had once again unwound the yarn ball.

The white string spread across her floor, over the lamp and into the next room. Meanwhile, her cat sat there as if nothing had happened.

Newsweek reached out to @healingat40 via TikTok for additional information and comment.

Viewer Reactions

People couldn’t stop laughing at the cat’s unfortunate predicament, and as of Thursday, the TikTok clip amassed over 2.2 million likes and 14,400 comments.

“Your cat just did the most cat thing a cat could do,” a viewer said.

Another added: “He was having a good time until he wasn’t.”

Someone compared the cat’s situation to “when your friends don’t leave u a blanket at the sleepover.”

A fourth person commented: “God forbid a girl get a hobby.”
