HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A woman accused of hitting multiple vehicles and spitting on a firefighter has been arrested, according to police.
On Monday, Huntsville Police responded to a reported hit-and-run at the intersection of Holmes Avenue and Triana Boulevard around 7 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to a woman who was driving a black vehicle. According to HPD, the woman told authorities that a driver in a gray vehicle crossed the median and hit her car before leaving the scene southbound on Triana Boulevard.
HPD said that the driver of the black vehicle was not injured.
Shortly after, officers received a second report of a traffic collision just south of the original location, at Triana Boulevard and Governors Drive.
HPD told News 19 that the driver of the gray vehicle ran a redlight and hit a white pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck was injured during the incident.
HPD was able to arrest the female driver of the gray vehicle after she tried to run away from the scene.
Huntsville Police identified the female driver of the gray vehicle as Julie Yvette Pinchon, 33, of Huntsville.
According to police, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Pinchon at the time of her arrest.
While authorities were taking her back to the scene to be evaluated by Huntsville Fire Department personnel, Pinchon spat on one of the firefighters.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that Pinchon was involved in both collisions.
Criminal case reports for leaving the scene of a accident has been filed and is being reviewed by the General Investigations Unit.
Pinchon was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and assault with bodily fluids.
She was booked into the Madison County Jail.
