Tony-Nominated Musicals ‘Maybe Happy Ending’ And ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ To Launch Tours In 2026

The producers of Broadway‘s Maybe Happy Ending and Buena Vista Social Club have announced national tours for the shows to launch in 2026.

Both shows were nominated for 10 Tony Awards last week, including Best Musical.

Maybe Happy Ending by Will Aronson and Hue Park directed by Michael Arden will embark on a multi-year North American tour beginning in the fall of 2026. Launching in Baltimore at the Hippodrome Theatre at The France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, the tour has stops planned in 30+ cities including Los Angeles, D.C., Chicago, Tampa, St. Louis, Detroit, San Francisco, Providence and many other cities. Additional engagements, casting and the route for the tour’s first year will be announced soon.

“We’re thrilled to launch the North American tour of Maybe Happy Ending in the vibrant city of Baltimore, where the spirit of innovation and storytelling runs deep,” said Ron Legler, France-Merrick Performing Arts Center President. “It’s the perfect place to begin this journey of heart, humor and unexpected connection.”

The cast on Broadway includes Darren Criss, Helen J Shen, Dez Duron and Marcus Choi. Maybe Happy Ending is the offbeat and captivating story of two outcasts near the end of their warranty who discover that even robots can be swept off their feet.

Producers for Buena Vista Social Club also announced that a multi-year North American Tour launching in Buffalo at Shea’s Performing Arts Center in September 2026, with additional planned stops in Washington, DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and many other cities.

Casting, exact dates and additional cities will be announced at a later date.

“On Broadway, Buena Vista Social Club has been captivating theatergoers and expanding the theatrical landscape by attracting new, diverse audiences,” says producer Orin Wolf. “Our show redefines what a new Broadway musical looks like, showcasing the beautiful artistry and heritage of this beloved Cuban music. I’m thrilled to bring the experience of Buena Vista Social Club to audiences across the country on our first North American tour.”

With a book by Marco Ramirez and direction by Saheem Ali, Buena Vista Social Club has already won a Special Tony Award for its band of renowned musicians from across the globe who help tell the legendary story of the artists who recorded the original album Buena Vista Social Club. The musical features choreography by Patricia Delgado and Justin Peck.

The cast on Broadway includes Venetia Belcon,, Julio Monge, Mel Semé, Jainardo Batista Sterling, Isa Antonetti, Da’Von T. Moody, Wesley Wray, Leonardo Reyna, Renesito Avich, Ashley De La Rosa, Justin Cunningham, Angélica Beliard, Carlos Falú, Carlos Gonzalez, Héctor Juan Maisonet, Ilda Mason, Marielys Molina, Andrew Montgomery Coleman, Sophia Ramos, Anthony Santos, Martín Sola, and Tanairi Sade Vazquez.
