If there is one thing the entire golf world can agree on, it is that Keegan Bradley is passionate about the Ryder Cup. So it is no surprise that he’s doing everything in his power to ensure the strongest possible American team competes at Bethpage Black.
One step in that direction is the dinner Bradley hosted Tuesday in Philadelphia for several potential team members. What better setting to strengthen the bonds of future teammates than spending a few hours together in a relaxed atmosphere?
The information was released by renowned Golf Channel journalist Todd Lewis, who also revealed the surprise invitation extended to Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau to attend the dinner.
Tuesday night in Philly @Keegan_Bradley will host a dinner for the current top 20 in the @RyderCupUSA standings. Also invited are members of the 2023 U.S. Ryder Cup Team and the 2024 U.S. @PresidentsCup team. LIV players @brysondech & @BKoepka are scheduled to be at the dinner.

Later, during an interview for SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio, Lewis also reflected on how this action reflects the leadership of Keegan Bradley:
“That’s kind of an example of the passion that Keegan has,” Lewis said. “And we had a pretty good conversation this morning. I think when he did not get picked for Rome, he realized that the dynamic on the PGA Tour, for whatever reason, has shifted now.”
“There is a lot more friendships. There are players rooting for each other. They want to beat them, but if they can’t beat them, they root for them…”
“I think that he’s trying to incorporate that here with this dinner tonight. Obviously, not everyone at that dinner is going to make the team, but having good chemistry, having the same purpose, is something that he is going to lay the framework for tonight.”
Most of the PGA Tour’s dinner guests were in the Philadelphia area for the Truist Championship, which begins Thursday. Not so for Koepka and DeChambeau, who had just arrived from Korea, where the most recent LIV Golf event took place.
That, along with the fact that they are both part of the Saudi-backed league, makes their presence at the dinner a bit surprising. But it is also a clear sign that captain Bradley is not going to let the current controversy between the two tours affect the building of the Ryder Cup team.
According to what Todd Lewis reported, in addition to Bradley, Koepka and DeChambeau, the guest list included the following players (among others) currently inside the top 20 of the US team rankings:
Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Russell Henley, Justin Thomas, Maverick McNealy, Brian Harman, Andrew Novak, J.J. Spaun, Patrick Cantlay, Harris English, Tom Hoge, Daniel Berger, Lucas Glover, Billy Horschel, Wyndham Clark, Tony Finau, Michael Kim and Akshay Bhatia.
Scheffler skipped the Truist Championship, so he did not attend the dinner. The same goes for Billy Horschel, who will undergo surgery next week to repair a hip injury.
