Netflix has dropped the long-awaited teaser trailer for Squid Game season three. The final episodes of the series sees Player 456 face off against Front Man one last time, playing the deadly games in the blockbuster Korean drama series.
Following the cliffhanger of season two, the series sees the return of Lee Jung-jae‘s Seong Gi-hun/Player 456 as he continues to rebel within the game. Failing to fully do so and leading to the death of his best friend Jung-bae at the hands of the Front Man who posed as a fake player in the games, the second season finale’s breakdown saw creator Hwang Dong-hyuk tease to Variety for the next season that viewers will “meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as we begin the third season. Gi-hun will not be the man he was in Season 2.”
After the release of season two on Netflix, the show was the most-viewed series in a single week and currently stands as the streaming platform third most watched series ever, behind the first season and Wednesday. Squid Game season three drops on Netflix on June 27.
