PHOENIX — A Tempe church property was recently sold for over $1 million by a California-based nonprofit, according to a Wednesday press release.
NAI Horizon’s Church Realty Solutions represented Skyline Church Inc. in the $1.1 million transaction of Skyline Church. Amy, Larry and Julia Beth Beaumont were the buyers.
The property was the former site of New Beginnings in Christ Wesleyan Church.
What are the plans for the Tempe church property?
The Beaumonts plan to preserve some elements of the 4,467-square-foot, two-building property, located near Hardy Drive and 11th Street, while repurposing other elements, according to the release.
Plans include building a new residence on the parking lot parcel and restoring the former parsonage on the property.
“Traditional development on church property is to scrape and build high-density housing. That’s not happening here,” Senior vice president Thomas Smith said in the release.
“The new owners are creating three residential housing units that are environmentally sensitive by using reclaimed materials. The interior roof design and infrastructure exposed aged timber beams secured with classic heavy bolt placements.”
