Bose and LISA have teamed up to launch a limited-edition set of Bose Ultra Open Earbuds that merges the American brand’s audio expertise with the Thai artist’s design aesthetic.
The Bose × LISA Ultra Open Earbuds sees the former Blackpink member put her personal touch on Bose’s most recent earbuds, which originally launched in February last year.
Unlike traditional earbuds that sit inside the ear canal, Bose’s first commercial “open” earbuds clip onto the outside of the ear – like a clip-on earring – allowing users to listen to audio while staying aware of their surroundings. They consist of two main parts connected by a flexible silicone arm, with the cylindrical “battery barrel” sitting against the outside of your ear and the speaker unit resting against your concha, acting like a personal mini soundsystem. They’re incredibly lightweight with minimal clamping pressure, making them comfortable to wear for long periods.
On her new collaboration with Bose, LISA says: “After falling in love with the Ultra Open Earbuds, I wanted to bring my fans a reimagined design that is as bold as my music and style. Music and fashion are how I express myself, so creating a custom pair was such a natural fit and evolution of my partnership with Bose. My earbuds are always with me, so I never have to sacrifice exceptional sound for style.”
To mark the launch, Bose and LISA and hosting the Bose × LISA Pop-up Boutique in LA on May 10. It’s described as “immersive” experience that was “inspired by LISA’s dynamic persona and emulates her star emblem universe”, with the pair promising fans an early opportunity to grab the new earbuds along with other “goodies and souvenirs”. The pop-up will be located at 8175 Melrose Avenue.
The Bose × LISA Ultra Open Earbuds launch globally on May 12 and will be available on Bose’s website priced at £379 GBP / $399 USD.
