April was a slower month in terms of new premieres, but that all changes in May and makes our What to Watch guide bigger than ever. Several major shows will sign off for the 2024-2025 calendar year (including Grey’s Anatomy, Ghosts, and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage), but plenty more will debut to fill the void. There is Amazon Prime’s twisty limited series The Better Sister, starring Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks, for one, as well as the light-hearted, visually gorgeous The Four Seasons on Netflix.
As far as returning series go, the sophomore season of Nicole Kidman’s Nine Perfect Strangers is coming soon to Hulu (this time they’re swapping the palm trees of California for the Austrian Alps), plus the third season of And Just Like That… on Max. Regarding the latter, it’s been nearly two years since Carrie and Seema sat on a windy beach as Carrie pondered a future that didn’t include Aiden (at least for now). However, we know John Corbett is back for season three: So either we’re getting a substantial time jump, or Aiden realizes his request that Carrie wait for him was ridiculous. Whatever the case, I can’t wait for this show to return.
In terms of unscripted fare, the Met Gala red carpet will stream on Monday, May 5. The theme this year is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and I’m excited to see who might show up that has never attended before. Also on Monday, the premiere of Connie Britton’s new series The Motherhood, on Hallmark, in which she helps single moms transform their lives. It’s beautiful, heartwarming show that deserves your time.
Check out everything below, from a Big Bang Theory reunion on Night Court to a soapy new Netflix series starring a White Lotus and Perfect Couple fan favorite.
