God forbid a woman have a hobby like supporting her boyfriend at work. President Trump dissed Taylor Swift while celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles during the team’s visit to the White House, and his comment was neither interesting nor particularly creative. At least give her a nickname if you’re gonna go there?
In February, Trump became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, watching the Eagles handily destroy the champion Kansas City Chiefs. As you probably know, Swift was also in attendance, as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is a tight end for the Chiefs.
On April 28, the Eagles (minus QB Jalen Hurts and some other players) visited the White House, where Trump made a speech calling the “incredible game” a “little surprising” (frankly, we were all shocked at how quickly KC crumbled).
“I watched in person.… I was there along with Taylor Swift.… How did that work out?” he added. Per People, he got a laugh and repeated his hysterical punchline: “How did that one work out?”
Ya got her! Swift’s boyfriend’s team, which was the best in the country last year, is only the second best in the country this year!
Online, the response from Swifties was resounding: “Why is he still talking about her?”
Sure, a little trash talk is part of football culture (or, in the case of NFL fans and Swift, straight-up booing her, ugh), but doesn’t the literal president of the United States have anything better to think about? My retirement account has a few ideas!

If you somehow missed it, Trump and Taylor Swift have been beefing (if you can even call it that) for as long as he’s been in politics, with Swift explicitly endorsing his opponents in both the 2020 and 2024 elections.
Almost 10 years in, he really needs to calm down.
