Moms who have trouble getting their kids to listen to them: you are not alone. Even Rihanna struggles to get her two sons, RZA and Riot Rose, to pay attention to her—so much so that she had to go banana mode.
You haven’t heard of banana mode? It’s the latest parenting hack. See, Rihanna’s boys love bananas, so she used an Instagram filter to turn herself into a banana. Perhaps they will listen to a talking banana? A Rihanana, if you will.
At least, that’s what she joked about on her Instagram stories, smiling through a yellow peel.
“Since my kids love bananas so much, but wanna ignore me,” she wrote, setting the Story to H.E.R.’s “Focus.” Stars really are just like us.
Pitch: Veggie Tales, but instead of vegetables telling Bible stories, it’s Rihanna-as-fruit delivering parenting lessons. Eh?
The newly-lobbed Rih may be too busy with her kids and her many businesses to record her long-awaited next album, but fans will soon get something almost as good: a Met Gala fashion moment.
Her partner A$AP Rocky is a co-chair for this year’s gala (alongside Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton and Pharrell Williams), and as the pair have walked the carpet in fabulous co-ordinated looks before, we fully expect them to turn out on May 5.
The 2025 dress code is Tailored for You, and the accompanying exhibit focuses on Black styles throughout the decades, and more specifically, high-end menswear, exploring the idea of the “Black dandy.”
Per Vogue, the exhibition is “organized into 12 sections, each representing a characteristic that defines dandy style: Ownership, Presence, Distinction, Disguise, Freedom, Champion, Respectability, Jook (defined in Zora Neale Hurston’s ‘Characteristics of Negro Expression’—an important reference for the exhibition—as a space for dancing, drinking, and other leisure activities), Heritage, Beauty, Cool, and Cosmopolitanism.”
