As the Marvel Cinematic Universe enters Phase Six, the stakes have never been higher, onscreen and off.

With a year until Avengers: Doomsday hits the big screen on May 1, 2026, MCU stars Wyatt Russell and David Harbour recently revealed the pressure they’re under to keep a tight lid on spoilers for the upcoming movie while promoting Thunderbolts*.

“Media training for Doomsday is they just hold a knife to your neck and said ‘You say anything, and it’s over,’” Russell told ComicBook. He reprises his role as John Walker/US Agent in Thunderbolts*, premiering May 2 in theaters.

Harbour, who is back as Alexei Shostakov, teased, “It’s the most terrifying stunt imaginable, doing a bunch of interviews where they go, ‘So we hear you’re in Doomsday?’ and he’s just like harnessed up.”

Albeit Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is not directly involved with Doomsday, he was spared the intimidation tactics over the highly-anticipated franchise update.

“You know what’s funny is that I feel like I never got taken into the back room and really given the talking to,” said Schreier. “I think maybe they know it’s out in the world now and you just learn not to to reveal anything.”

As of last month, the Avengers: Doomsday cast includes several stars from Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, premiering July 25, as well as Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Tenoch Huerta (Namor), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Danny Ramirez (Joaquín Torres / Falcon), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Tom Hiddleton (Loki), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier / Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops) and Channing Tatum (Gambit).

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. is making his MCU return as Victor Von Doom, and Chris Evans is also set to return in an unknown role.
