The Zurich Classic, a one-of-a-kind PGA Tour event, is renowned for its unforgettable team moments, and this year is no exception.
On Day 3 of the tournament, a hysterical incident unfolded when 28-year-old Chandler Phillips made history by stripping down to hit a crucial golf shot at the $9.2 million event.
Phillips, paired with Jacob Bridgeman, started their day at 14-under par, tied for fourth, but the pages turned quickly after the incident.
On the 16th hole, Phillips’ ball ended up near the lake, home to alligators, making the situation more complex. The 28-year-old then shed his shirt and shoes to take the shot from the marsh.
He actually hit a pretty miraculous shot, pin high just left of the hole. But that is not what caught everyone’s attention.
Spectators and commentators alike were taken aback as the incident unfolded due to the unreal farmer’s tan of Phillips.
The stark contrast between his tanned arms and torso, as well as his lower body, made him a laughing stock among golf fans.
“I still see a shirt,” a social media user commented as the video went viral, making fun of the players’ sun-kissed skin.
Meanwhile, others took to social media to express their disapproval, with one user suggesting, “2 stroke penalty for indecent exposure.”

Another fan chimed in, comparing Phillips’s situation to their own experience at a local course, saying, “I got kicked out of my local course for taking my shirt off to catch some sun.. I guess rules don’t apply to guys on the tour.”
He joked further, “How’s that not against the course dress code? Kick him off the tour!”
The roasting session did not end here. One fan went on to compare Philips’s tan lines to LED light, saying, “That tan line is bright like LED.”
