Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow exited Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates after throwing a couple warm up pitches ahead of the second inning.

Glasnow appeared to scream in frustration before walking off the mound, and was replaced by right-hander Ben Casparius.
Shortly after Glasnow exited the game, the Dodgers announced on social media that he was removed with right shoulder discomfort.
Glasnow exited his last start this past Sunday in the top of the fifth inning due to leg cramps. However, Glasnow wasn’t forced to miss a start, and it appeared he wasn’t having any residual issues.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said before the game that he wasn’t concerned about Glasnow’s cramps from last week.
“He did an IV yesterday, just kind of getting his body hydrated, all the work leading up to today is good, so for me and the training staff there’s no concern going into this start, which is a good thing,” Roberts said.

Sunday against the Pirates, Glasnow allowed two earned runs on two hits with one walk in the first inning. Then, he wasn’t able to throw any pitches in the second inning.

Glasnow, 31, has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his career.

The Dodgers traded for Glasnow last offseason after he spent the first eight years of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays. He had never pitched more than 21 starts or 120 innings in a season.
Last year, Glanow set career-highs with 22 starts and 134 innings pitched. However, he suffered an elbow injury in August that kept him out for the remainder of the regular season and postseason.
Now, Glasnow has already been forced to exit two starts this season due to injury. While last week’s injury turned out to be nothing serious, this new injury is much more concerning.
The Dodgers are already without left-hander Blake Snell, as he’s been dealing with left shoulder inflammation. The last thing they can afford is another starter hitting the injured list with Clayton Kershaw still a few weeks away and Shohei Ohtani a couple months away. Tony Gonsolin is expected to make his season debut this week after missing the first month due to a back injury he suffered in spring training.
