Cavs guard Darius Garland went through a no-contact workout at Cavs practice today, but was not able to go at full speed. Coach Kenny Atkinson left his status at “We’ll see.” But he said that the series lead being at 3-0 won’t factor into Garland playing and that it’s a…

Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson was quite vague when discussing the possibility of Garland suiting up for Game 4.
“Listen, I’d love for him to play, obviously,” Atkinson said. “I’m a conservative doctor. I’m going to prescribe the conservative thing. If they give me two choices, that would be my recommendation. Be more conservative.”
Garland was unable to give it a go in Game 3. Nonetheless, the Cavaliers took care of business and in a big way on the road, coming away with a win and a commanding 3-0 series lead, 124-87.
The 25-year-old has been fantastic in the series, averaging 24.0 points per game, 7.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds while shooting 51.6 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc.
In the regular season, Garland played in 75 games, where he averaged 20.6 points per game, 6.7 assists, and 2.9 rebounds.
The Cavaliers will aim to finish the series on Monday, whether or not Garland is available. If Garland is unable to suit up, Cleveland will likely once again turn to Sam Merrill, who filled in as a starter during Game 3.
Despite Garland’s uncertain status, the Cavaliers are in a strong position to close things out. According to ESPN Bet, Cleveland enters as heavy road favorites with a -8.5 spread. Garland being the only name on the injury report is a positive sign overall for the Cavs as they look to advance.
The Heat will do all they can to take advantage of possibly no Garland this time and force a Game 5. If the Heat happen to come away with the win, Game 5 will be in front of the Cleveland fans on Wednesday.
The Cavaliers will be massive favorites in that contest, and Garland may be available for that contest.
