The Chicago Stars will face the San Diego Wave on Saturday in NWSL action at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois.
It has been a somewhat slow start to the season for both clubs, with the San Diego Wave sitting seventh on the table with just seven points in five matches, courtesy of two wins, one draw, and two losses. The San Diego Wave has scored nine goals this season but given up a goal differential of merely plus-one.
On the bright side, the San Diego Wave are coming off a resounding 4-1 win over Racing Louisville behind a brace by Delphine Cascarino, as well as goals scored by Kenza Dali and Melanie Barcenas to secure the important three points.

The Chicago Stars are faring even worse so far in this still-young campaign. The club sits 13th out of 14 teams on the table with just three points in five matches. The Chicago Stars have scored merely three goals this season but given up 11 for a tough minus-eight goal differential. Two games ago, the Chicago Stars did pull off a 2-1 win over Bay FC in which Ludmila bagged a brace, scoring goals in the fifth and 41st minutes to earn her club three points. In the following game, however, the club fell 1-0 to the Utah Royals, leaving it in poor form heading into today’s game against the San Diego Wave.
