HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — An Alabama A&M offensive tackle was just drafted by the Baltimore Ravens.
Carson Vinson, Alabama A&M offensive tackle, was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens as the 141st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Alabama A&M wrote that Vinson, the only HBCU player invited of 329 prospects to attend the NFL Scouting Combine, opened the day by running a 5.12 in the 40-yard dash. His 10-yard split time of 1.80 was the 10th fastest during that round.
As a senior, Vinson has racked up multiple postseason honors, including becoming the first HBCU player invited to the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl, AFCA FCS All-America Second Team and Phil Steele 2024 SWAC Offensive Lineman of the Year, started in all 48 games for the Bulldogs.
Vinson also became the first HBCU player invited to the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Vinson said he is proud of his journey and says his success should be a sign of things to come in the Bulldogs’ program. “A&M’s slogan is “Start Here, Go Anywhere,” and that reigns true. It always reigns true,” Vinson said. I’ve always been told that the [NFL], wherever you are, they’ll find you. I just want to show my teammates that if you work hard and you put in the work, they’ll find you. And you can have all your dreams here.”
