An official in Pakistan-administered has confirmed that both sides exchanged fire overnight along the Line of Control (LOC) that separates and .
“There is post-to-post firing in Leepa Valley overnight,” Syed Ashfaq Gilani, a senior government official in Jhelum Valley district in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, told AFP news agency.
Gilani said there was “no firing on the civilian population. Life is normal. Schools are open.”
The Leepa Valley is located along the Line of Control (LoC) with India, some 95 kilometers (around 59 miles) east of Pakistan-run Kashmir’s administrative center, the city of Muzaffarabad.

India blows up houses of suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba militants
Authorities in Indian-administered have demolished the houses of two suspected militants.
The Press Trust of India (PTI) reported that one of the properties belonged to Asif Sheikh, a member of the -based Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group, who was allegedly involved in the deadly shootings in Pahalgam on Tuesday.
Citing officials, PTI said security forces were carrying out search operations at two residences when explosives, planted inside, detonated.
The official said the houses were destroyed in the blasts.
Elsewhere in , several states ruled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party have torn down what they say are illegal houses or shops of people accused of crimes.
Many of those affected by what’s become known as “instant, bulldozer justice” are Muslims.
