As well as paving the way in sneaker culture, Foot Locker also has its roots firmly ingrained in the communities it serves. For its latest Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, titled “Summer Different,” the retailer continues its local support by partnering with grassroots collectives across Europe to reinterpret summer their way, right in their city.

Following the debut with Spain’s Winner’s Circle, Hypebeast has now teamed up with Foot Locker to spotlight UNDERCOVER in the latest episode of this exclusive Day in the Life series.

Providing a meeting point for Paris’ youth, the collective hosts a highly sought-after event series every Wednesday at the iconic Sacré club in the heart of the city. Despite the clubbing industry being on a decline after the pandemic, they’re attempting to revive the essence of Paris’ nightlife scene for the next generation. Connected through a diverse musical palette and driven by its ethos, “COME WITH ENERGY LEAVE WITH MORE,” UNDERCOVER is all about good vibes, community, and celebration.

We follow Ewen Koyongo, the collective’s videographer, as he takes us on a typical UNDERCOVER night out. After introducing the team at their studio — from the visual lead to the DJs — they get laced in this season’s lifestyle running sneakers courtesy of Foot Locker.

With an event usually running from midnight until 5 a.m., they soon head out to “the best Turkish restaurant in Paris” to fuel up before the big night. The final stop, the Sacré club, features many rooms throughout its vast venue. While priding itself on its diverse music offering, the collective utilizes these separate spaces to offer different experiences that cater to everyone’s taste, all in one night. “We’re here every Wednesday — so whether you’re from Paris or not, come live the experience with us,” Koyongo explains.

After he captures footage of the queue that leads around the block, Koyongo heads inside to take us on a tour of the lively rooms. “Here is the good vibes — Armel’s room,” he says. “It’s more of an Afro-Caribbean vibe. People usually come here to sing and dance together.” Down the corridor, you’ll find Alyas’ Rage Room, where, as the name suggests, “it’s more about mosh pits and the latest drops — it’s THE trap,” referencing the high-energy tracks spun here. Here’s where Koyongo finds himself in the centre of the mosh pit, doing everything to capture the most energetic content for the collective.

Now celebrating their 30th edition, UNDERCOVER’s events are more than just a party — they’re a whole movement in the city. Engaging with the community through music, visuals, and content is how the collective pushes togetherness in Paris. “Honestly, Foot Locker is family,” Koyongo tells Hypebeast of their relationship with the retailer and its support in helping them serve their community. “They help us create powerful moments and allow our community to vibe.”

Stay tuned on Hypebeast for more from the “Summer Different” campaign. You can also head to the Foot Locker website to explore the latest footwear styles.
